MALAGA / FUENGIROLA / MIJAS
Fuengirola is one of the most popular destinations on the Costa del Sol and it is not difficult to see why this buzzing cosmopolitan town is high on the list for golfers. Peviously a tiny fishing village the resort has grown into a vibrant metropolis with character, boasting chic boutiques, up-market tapas bars and a beautiful 7 km sandy beach. In contrast the little village of Mijas, which nestles comfortably in the mountainside above Fuengirola is a traditional Andalucian village offering wonderful craft shops and affordable paintings with acclaimed local artists such as Don Clarke and Michele Lehmann exhibiting in the village. Despite the huge popularity with tourists, Mijas Pueblo has somehow managed to retain much of its traditional relaxed way of life.
